About Us!

Welcome to ShayMakes! All the colorful, crystal & resin jewelry and decor of your dreams!

ShayMakes started in 2015 as a small custom headband and jewelry shop. Since then, we've expanded to crystal jewelry, resin gifts, crystal suncatchers, and combinations of the three. Wearable art has always been a favorite of mine, and now we get to create it all the time!

Meet the Maker: Le’Shay Uddin-Edwards.

An artist, wife and mother.
"It has been a blessing, a challenge, and most of all an extremely rewarding experience. As a child I would always prefer crafty gifts and things that I could use to make new types of art. The bead and art sets that I would get for Christmas became a staple in my life, and I used them for just about everything, a habit of which continues today.
In 2015 I started my business “ShayMakes!”, mainly making custom flower crowns and jewelry. As of today, I have expanded to crafting handmade jewelry and resin creations, and customized gifts.
I love creating my art and showing others that they can make a living doing something that they love, while balancing all the other eccentricities of life.
Before ShayMakes took off, I was worried that something seemingly inconsistent couldn’t be a career. As a young black girl, I was constantly being told that art isn’t something you make a career out of, that I have to work hard at everything to have something concrete. I would work two physically demanding jobs and be so tired by the end of the day that I wouldn’t have time to create like I wanted to.
Since leaving I’m much happier. I also have more time to spend with my family and I feel like I’m challenged mentally to create orders that someone else will love.”
I want to show every child that their art matters, and that they can do anything and everything that they are passionate about, with dedication and focus! I want the positive intentions that I put into each piece to translate, and to make a positive impression on its new home!
Thank you for making this possible, I couldn’t do it without all of you!
